who is mohmmad
In the middle of an Arabian desert, more than one thousand years ago, there was a great tribe named Quraish who lived in an old city called Makkah. Quraish is the tribe of Prophet Mohammad(May peace be upon him). Mohammad's grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, was the chiefof Quraish, People loved and respected him. He had ten sons. The youngest son, Abdullah, was the Prophet Mohammad's father. Abdullah married a kind girl from Quraish called Amena Bent Wahb. Abdul Muttalib made a wedding party for them. Amena was very happy with her husband, AbdullahSoon after Abdullah married Amena (Mohammad's mother), he went on a business trip to Bilad-Ashaam. On his way back, he became sick and could not continue the journey. His friends left him in Yathreb (Madina) with his relatives (his mother's family). They would take care of him until he felt better and was able to continue the journey. However, Abdullah's health became worse. Soon after, he died leaving his young wife waiting for him in Makkah. Amena, who was pregnant, cried very much when she heard of her husband's death. She felt sad and lonely. One night, Amena had a beautiful dream. She dreamed of a great light coming out of her tummy, shining all the way to the palaces in Bilad-Ashaam (Syria). After the dream, she slept peacefully. The next morning, Amena told her father-in-law, Abdul Muttalib, about her dream. He became happy and kept waiting for the birth of his grand-child whom he

expected to have a great future. When Amena felt that
she was going to have the baby, she looked at the sky and remembered her dream. Amena was both crying and smiling. She was crying because her baby's father had died, and she was smiling because of that unforgettable dream that her son would have a great future. Thus, our Prophet was bornAmena sent Um-Ayman, the nanny, to tell Abdul Muttalib the good news. Abdul Muttalib immediately came to see his newly born grandson.
He felt so grateful, that he took the little baby to the Holy Kaaba, and he named him Mohammad. When Mohammad was one week old, his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, gave a big feast, inviting all the Quraish nobility. During this festivity, Abdul Muttalib was asked:"What's the baby's name?". He answered:"Mohammad". With surprise, they asked:"Why didn't you give him a common name we use in Quraish?" Abdul Muttalib answered:"I named him Mohammad (the Praised) because i want him to be the praised one in Heavens and the praised one on Earth". It was customary for the well-off families to send their babies to wet nurses in Badia. Halima Assadia, a wet nurse, was asked to take care of Mohammad. When she saw Mohammad, she liked him. She asked her husband: He seems like a blessed child. Shall we take him? He said: Let us take him. Maybe he will bring us blessing and good fortuneHalima took the baby, Mohammad, to Badia and nursed him with her own little boy.
She felt that she had more than enough milk for both of them. In the clean and fresh air of Badia, Halima raised Mohammad as a strong and healthy boy. As a little boy, Mohammad played with children in Badia, but Halima was always worried about him. Strangers who saw him would say: This little boy has a great future. She was afraid that someone would hurt him. So, she returned him to his mother when he was about three years old.

1-shahadah
[/font]اهمية الشهادة=tha shahadah and its importance
- Definitely there could be no greater and more important a statement than 'Laa ilaaha illa Allah' (there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah).
- It is the statement of declaration of belief in the Tawheed of Allah which is the dividing line between Imaan and kufr - It was the call of all of the previous Messengers and Prophets.
- Allah (T) Himself attested to the importance of this statement in the Quraan:
He (T) said: "...and know that Laa ilaaha ill Allah (that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah)..." [47:19, 20:8, 3:18, 59:22-3]
As long as this statement is an obligation for an unbeliever to declare in order for him to become a Muslim, and also, since a person who pronounces it faithfully his property and life are safeguarded in this world, it becomes an obligation upon any Muslim who wants to understand the Deen of Islaam to realize its meaning, merits, principles, conditions and its place in life.
- Remembering Allah (Dhikr Allah) is one of the most important commandments of Allah. This He Himself commanded in many verses of the Quraan, especially after the performance of important religious obligations:
"...Then when you leave Arafat, remember Allah (by glorfying and praising Him) at the Mash`ar il-Haraam. And remember Allah (by invokingAllah for all good) as He has guided you..." [2:198]
"Then when you have accomplished your 'Manasik' (all the rights of Hajj); remember Allah as you remember your father with a strong remembrance..." [2:200]
He (T) also said:
"...and establish prayers for My remembrance." [20:14]
The best way to remember Allah is described to us in the Hadeeth of the Messenger (S), he said:
"...and the best (supplication) I and the other prophets who were sent who were sent before me proclaimed was: There is no deity worthy of worship but Allah, He is Alone and has no partner. To Him belongs the Ownership (of everything), and to Him belongs all Praise, and He has total power over all things." [Laa ilaaha ill Allah, wah.dahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul mulku wa lahul h.amdu wa huwa `alaa kulli shay'in Qadeer.] At-Tirmidhi
The Messenger of Allah (S) also said: "The best remembrance of Allah is to say 'laa ilaaha ill Allah' (there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah)."
All of the above points highlight the importance of this 'kalima' which we will try to explain in some more detail so that a clearer understanding of it can be achieved.
THE PLACE OF LAA ILAAHA ILL ALLAH IN THE LIFE OF A MUSLIM
- It is pronounced daily by him in:
(a) The call to prayer.
(b) At the beginning of their prayers
(c) During Tashahud.
(d) During times of 'Dhikr', which is before and after prayers, in the
late evening and also in the early mornings.
(e) With this 'Kalima' did Allah send all His Messengers.
(f) About it and its obligations will people be questioned
(g) To establish it when the swords of Muslims are drawn for Jihaad.
(h) The first question in the grave will be about this 'Kalima'.
(i) It is the key to Al-Jannah.
(j) It is what the Muslims are commanded to invite to as is estbalished in the Hadeeth of Muadh when he was sent to Yemen to call the people to Islaam. The Messenger of Allah (S) said: "You are going to encounter with a people of the Book, so let the first thing you call them to is the proclamation of 'laa ilaaha ill Allah' (there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah)..." [Bukhari]
THE MERITS OF THE 'KALIMAH' (LAA ILAAHA ILL ALLAH)
Abu Sa`eed al-Khudri said, that the Messenger of Allah (S) said:
"Moses (AS) said: O Lord! Teach me something that I can remember You with and I can supplicate You with. He (T) said: Say 'Laa ilaaha ill Allah', O Musaa. He (Musaa) said: All of your servants say this. He (T) said: If the seven Heavens and those who dwell in them other than Me and the seven Earths are put into one pan (of the scale) and 'Laa ilaaha ill Allaah' is put into the other; 'Laa ilaaha ill Allah' would be heavier." [Ibn Hibbaan and Haakim] [/font]

The Messenger of Allah (S) said:
"The best Dhikr (remembrance) is 'Laa ilaaha ill Allah' (There is no deity worthy of worship but Allah)..."
The Messenger of Allah (S) said:
"A person from my Ummah will be summoned in the presence of all creatures on the Day of Judgement. Ninety-nine records (of his deeds) would be unfolded, each extending as far as the range of the vision can stretch, then he would be asked: 'Do you deny any of these deeds?' He will reply: 'No, My Lord.' He will be asked: 'Do you have any excuse or any good deed?' The man who will be scared will say: 'No' It will be said to him: 'Yes you have some good deeds. No iniquity will befall you.'
A card wll then be shown to him, on it will be written: 'Laa ilaaha ill Allah, Muhammad Rasool Allah.' He will say: 'O Allah! What cards and records are these.' It will be said to him: 'No injustice shall befall you.' The (ninety-nine) records will then be placed in one pan of the scale and the card on the other. The card will then outweigh the records." [At-Tirmidhi and Al-Haakim]
All of These Merits of the 'Kalimah' Are Summarized by Ibn Rajab As Follows:
- Al-Jannah is its reward.
- Uttering it before death will cause one to be admitted to the Jannah.
- It is a refuge from the Fire of Hell.
- It is a cause for a Muslim to be forgiven.
- It is the best of good deeds.
- It wipes out sins.
- It traverses all bariers in order to be accepted by Allah, the Almighty
- It is a statement whose pronouncer will be accepted by Allah.
- It is the best proclamation ever uttered by the Prophets.
- It is the best celebration of His praises.
- It is the best of deeds and it multiplies into many good deeds.
- It is a protection against Satan.
- It is a safety from the darkness and the punishment of the graves and from the Day of Resurrection.
- The eight doors of Paradise will be accessible to its pronuncer.
- People who pronounce it will certain come out of the Fire of Hell, even after they have been cast into it for falling short of observing its obligations.

اهمية الصلاة=the importance of prayar
The importance of the prayer in Islam cannot be understated. It is the first pillar of Islam that the Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned after mentioning the testimony of faith, by which one becomes a Muslim. It was made obligatory upon all the prophets and for all peoples. Allah has declared its obligatory status under majestic circumstances. For example, when Allah spoke directly to Moses, He said,
"And I have chosen you, so listen to that which is inspired to you. Verily, I am Allah! There is none worthy of worship but I, so worship Me and offer prayer perfectly for My remembrance." [Taha 13-14]
Similarly, the prayers were made obligatory upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during his ascension to heaven. Furthermore, when Allah praises the believers, such as in the beginning of surah al-Muminoon, one of the first descriptions He states is their adherence to the prayers.
Once a man asked the Prohpet (peace be upon him) about the most virtuous deed. The Prophet (peace be upon him) stated that the most virtuous deed is the prayer. The man asked again and again. The first three times, the Prophet (peace be upon him) again answered, "The prayer," then on the fourth occasion he stated, "Jihad in the way of Allah." [This is form a hadith recorded by Ahmad and ibn Hibban. According to al-Albani, the hadith is hasan. Muhammad Nasir al-Din al-Albani, Sahih al-Targheeb wa al-Tarheeb (Beirut: al-Maktab al-Islami, 1982), vol. 1, p. 150]
The importance of prayer is demonstrated in the many of the Prophet’s statement. For example, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said,
"The first matter that the slave will be brought to account for on the Day of Judgment is the prayer. If it is sound, then the rest of his deeds will be sound. And if it is bad, then the rest of his deeds will be bad." [Recorded by al-Tabarani. According to al-Albani, it is sahih. Al-Albani, Sahih al-Jami, vol.1, p. 503.
The importance of the prayers lies in the fact that no matter what actions one performs in his life, the msot important aspect is one’s relationship to Allah, that is, one’s faith (imaan), God-consciousness (taqwa), sincerity (ikhlas) and worship of Allah (`ibaadah). This relationship with Allah is both demonstrated and put into practice, as well as improved and increased, by the prayer. Therefore, if the prayers are sound and proper, the rest of the deeds will be sound and proper; and if the prayers are not sound and proper, then the rest of the deeds will not be sound and proper, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) himself stated.
In reality, the prayer is performed properly – with true remembrance of Allah and turning to Him for forgiveness – it will have a lasting effect on the person. After he finishes the prayer, his heart will be filled with the remembrance of Allah. He will be fearful as well as hopeful of Allah. After that experience, he will not want to move from that lofty position to one wherein he disobeys Allah. Allah has mentioned this aspect of the prayer when He has said,
"Verily, the prayer keeps one from the great sins and evil deeds" (al-Ankaboot 45). Nadwi has described this effect in the following eloquent way,
Its aim is to generate within the subliminal self of man such spiritual power, light of faith and awareness of God as can enable him to strive successfully against all kinds of evils and temptations and remain steadfast at times of trial and adversity and protect himself against the weakness of the flesh and the mischief of immoderate appetites. [Nadwi, p. 24]
The overall affect that the properly performed prayers should have upon humans is described in other verses in the Quran:

"Verily, man was created impatient, irritable when evil touches him and niggardly when good touches him. Except for those devoted to prayer those who remain constant in their prayers…" (al-Maarij 19-23).
As for the Hereafter, Allah’s forgiveness and pleasure is closely related to the prayers. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said,
"Allah has obligated five prayers. Whoever excellently performs their ablutions, prays them in their proper times, completes their bows, prostrations and khushu` [Khushu` in the prayer is where the person’s heart is attuned to the prayer. This feeling in the heart is then reflected on the body. The person remains still and calm. His gaze is also lowered. Even his voice is affected by this feeling in the heart. For more details on this concept (as well as the difference between it and khudhu`), see Muhammad al-Shaayi, al-Furooq al-Laughawiyyah wa Atharahaa fi Tafseer al-Quran al-Kareem (Riyadh: Maktabah al-Ubaikaan, 1993), pp. 249-254.] has a promise from Allah that He will forgive him. And whoever does not do that has no promise from Allah. He may either forgive him or punish him." [Recorded by Malik, Ahmad, Abu Dawud, al-Nasa’I and others. According to al-Albani, it is sahih. Al-Albani, Sahih al-Jami, vol. 1, p. 616.] ]
The prayers are a type of purification for a human being. He turns and meets with his Lord five times a day. As alluded to above, this repeated standing in front of Allah should keep the person from performing sins during the day. Furthermore, it should also be a time of remorse and repentance, such that he earnestly asks Allah for forgiveness for those sins that he committed. In addition, the prayer in itself is a good deed that wipes away some of the evil deeds that he performed. These points can be noted in the following hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him):
"If a person had a stream outside his door and he bathed in it five times a day, do you think he would have any filth left on him?" The people said, "No filth would remain on him whatsoever." The Prophet (peace be upon him) then said, "That is like the five daily prayers: Allah wipes away the sins by them." (Recorded by al-Bukhari and Muslim.)
In another hadith, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said,
"The five daily prayers and the Friday Prayer until the Friday prayer are expiation for what is between them." (Recorded by Muslim.)
3-zakatاهمية الزكاة=the importance of zakat
Dear Muslims,
This is a very important matter. It relates to one of the pillars of Islam. Allah describes the taking of zakat in the following manner.
"Take alms from their wealth in order to purify them and sanctify them with it." [Soorah at-Tauba 103]
[Zakat] is one of the foundations of Islam. If the foundation is weak, then this weak foundation will have ramifications for other aspects of our lives.
Today, how many Muslims in the world honestly, sincerely and properly pay zakat to purify their wealth and to help their Muslim brethren. Since we are missing lacking or very weak in that foundation, is it any surprise that:
So many Muslims are starving and in need today.
So much Muslim wealth is wasted on luxury.
So much Muslim wealth is spent on forbidden items.
So little Muslim wealth is spent on jihad and sacrificing for the sake of Allah.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was ordered to fight the people until they made the shahada, established prayer and paid zakat. Abu Bakr continued that teaching after him. What does that mean for us today? Does that mean that if they were alive today, we would be from those who wouled be fighting alonside them or would we be from those whom they would be fighting?
Let us make sure that we pay the zakat and fulfill all of the other pillars of Islam correctly and sincerely for Allah's sake, so that our Islam as a whole will be strong and Allah will be pleased with us.
4- the fast )ramadan)
=why fast ?
Fasting is one of these special acts just referred to; it is, in fact, one of the five important acts of worship called the pillars of Islam. The other four are the profession of faith - there is no god (worthy of worship) except Allah (the one true God) and Muhammad is His Messenger, - the five daily prayers, the payment of the poor due (zakat) and the pilgrimage (hajj). These different acts of worship are to the soul as food is to the body. All kinds of food, like proteins, fats and carbohydrates, serve to make the body healthy, but each one contributes to one's health in a special way, and plays a role that cannot be fully played by the others in achieving that purpose. Similarly, all the acts of worship help to keep our souls sound and healthy by instilling taqwa [in general, it means 'God consciousness,' 'God awareness,' 'fear of God,' and so on] in them, but each has a special role to play in this process, and people who perform these experience in their hearts the special character of the feelings they engender.
When we fast - the Islamic way - we abstain from food, drink, and sexual intercourse from dawn to sunset. We do this for the sake of God and in obedience to Him. We thus make a clear statement that our real submission is to God and not to the temptations of our bodies however strong they may be. And for this God gives us a special reward. The Prophet (peace be on him) stated, "In paradise there are eight gates
27-04-2007, 07:10
among which is a gate called al-Rayyan which only those who fast will enter." (Recorded by al-Bukhari and Muslim). And every good deed will be rewarded ten-fold save for fasting which Allah stated, "Is done only for my sake and I shall reward it." (Recorded by al-Bukhari and Muslim.)
Fasting is good not only for our souls but also for our bodies. It helps to make us healthier. Furthermore, abstention from food and drink for a number of days increases will power and weakens the sexual desire. Therefore, it is especially recommended for young men who are not able to marry.

5-hajj
So That Our Hajj May Be Accepted
This is an adapted translation of the article from Al Bayan magazine, “Hatta Yakoona Hajjuna Mabroora” by Faysal bin `Ali Al-Ba`dani.
Allah subhanahu wa ta`ala has assigned a great reward for Hajj mabroor, as evidenced by the saying of the Messenger, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, “…There is no reward for Hajj Mabroor except Paradise.” (1)
The meaning of birr (from which the word “mabroor” is derived) involves the following two:
1. Good behaviour towards people, fulfilling ones duties towards others and giving them their rights. In the hadeeth, “Al Birr is good behaviour.” (3) In the Musnad, from Jabir, marfoo` naration states, “They said: 'What makes Hajj mabroor, O Rasulullah – sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam?' He said, 'Providing food to people and spreading (the greeting of) salam'.” (4)
2. Doing much worship and the trait of taqwa, as opposed to sinfulness. Allah ta`ala says, “Do you order people towards al-birr (righteousness) while you forget (it) yourselves?” (2:44) Al-Qurtubi said, “Sayings mentioned in tafseer of this verse are close in meaning, that is, (birr is) performance of Hajj in which its rules are fulfilled and which is done in the most complete manner.”
Not everyone who makes Hajj will have his Hajj accepted. As Ibn `Umar, radhiallahu `anhu, said to Mujahid, when he said, "How many Hujjaj", "How few. Rather say, how many riders." (6)
I will highlight here some matters that help one ensure that his or her Hajj will be accepted, in shaa' Allah.
First: Sincerity and Following of the Sunnah
Sincerity to Allah and seeking His reward and pleasure alone. Allah says in the hadeeth qudsi, "Whoever does an action for other than me, I will leave him and his shirk." (7) The Prophet, sallallahu 1alayhi wa sallam, supplicated, "Allahumma hajjatan la riyaa'a feeha wa la sum`a" (O Allah, (enable me to make) hajj with no riya' (show-off in the sense of desire that others witness one's good acts) or sum`a (show-off related to desire that others hear about one's good acts) in it." (8)
Following of the Messenger, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, in all matters. He said, "Whoever does an action not in accordance with our matter (Deen), it will be rejected." (9) Also, “Take your rituals (from me), for I do not know whether I will perform Hajj after this one.” (10) The Sahaba, radhiallahu `anhum, comprehended this matter well. `Umar said when he kissed the black stone, "By Allah, I know that you are a stone, you neither bring harm nor benefit, and if I had not seen the Messenger of Allah - sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, kiss you, I would not have kissed you.” (11)
Second: Preparation for Hajj
Servant's preparation for Hajj is from the most important matters that helps in performing the pilgrimage in the legislated manner and ensuring that one's hajj is in shaa' Allah accepted. From matters that require emphasis in preparation for Hajj are the following:
1. Examining and rectifying one's relationship with Allah ta`ala, by sincerely repenting and fulfilling the well-known conditions of repentance.
2. Seeking His help and guidance, manifesting one's need of Him, fear of Him and hope in His reward. This is from the most important matters, for it is not permissible for a person to rely solely on his material means.
3. Relieving oneself of one's obligations towards others, one's trusts and debts.
4. Writing of one's will, as travel exposes one to various dangers.
5. Preparation of provisions for those the pilgrim is responsible for until he returns, advising them with good and appointing someone to take care of their matters, so that his concern and attention be devoted to performance of the pilgrimage.
6. Taking a convenient journey and good, halal provision. For provision obtained through haram is from matters that cause one's worship not to be accepted. It is related from At-Tabarani in a marfoo` tradition, “When a person leaves for Hajj with good provision, places his foot in the stirrup (of his mount) and calls, “Labbayka Allahumma Labbayk” Here I am at Your service, O Allah! Here I am at Your

service], he is called from the heavens: “Labbayka wa Sa`dayk [may your call be replied and happiness be your reward], your sustenance is halal, your journeying is halal, and your Hajj is accepted.” And when he leaves with corrupt provisions and places his foot in the stirrup (of his mount) and says, “Labbayk”, he is called from the heavens, “La Labbayka wa la sa`dayk dayk [may your call not be responded to and happiness not be your reward], your provision is haram, your sustenance is haram and your Hajj is not accepted.” (13)
Today we live at a time when haram earnings have become widespread, and when questionable wealth has increased, except for those that Allah has mercy upon. So let every servant fear His Lord and remember his saying, “Allah is Good (Tayyib) and does not accept except what is good.” (13)
It is recommended for a servant to increase one's halal provisions according to his abilities, so that one does not depend on others and in order to show kindness to the weak (by giving money in charity).
7. Selection of a righteous company that will help one in moments of weakness, remind him when he forgets, teach him when he does not know, order him to good and forbid him from evil. So let the servant beware of the following two types of companies: a corrupt company that leads to sinfulness and falsehood, and a company that spends its time in what brings no benefit in the hereafter.
8. Learning rules of Hajj and its manners, as well as rules related to travel, including al qasr (shortening prayers), al jam` (joining prayers), at tayammum, al mash (wiping) etc. The Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said, “Whoever Allah wishes good, He gives him understanding of the Deen.” (14)
What helps a person in this is obtaining books and tapes by people of knowledge, and accompanying them while performing pilgrimage. Likewise, accompanying people who are familiar with places and times of different Hajj rituals.
Third: Servant's awareness of the true reality of Hajj and wisdoms for which the Hajj rituals have been legislated.
This is similar to khushoo` (humble submission) in Prayer, for whoever has greater khushoo`, chances of his prayer being accepted are greater. Likewise with Hajj, the more a person comprehends the reality and spirit of Hajj, the wisdoms and goals for which it has been legislated, and takes that as a means of correcting one's creed and way, the more likely his Hajj is to be accepted and the greater his reward. One will not be able to achieve this except by preparation and drowning in contemplation and research about true realities and wisdoms of Hajj. As for one who is not like this, it is feared that his action is a mixture of tourism and hardship.
Wisdoms and Aims of Hajj
From the most important wisdoms and goals of Hajj which the pilgrim must be aware of are the following:
First: Realization of at-Taqwa (piety, fearful awareness of Allah)
The goal of Hajj is realization of taqwa. This is why we find the link between Hajj and Taqwa in many verses: Allah ta`ala said, “And complete the Hajj and Umrah for Allah…And fear Allah…” (2:196) “And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah.” (2:197)
Second: Affirmation of Tawheed
Hajj is based on making one's intention sincere for Allah ta`ala and seeking with one's act the pleasure of Allah and none other. Allah ta`ala said, “And complete the Hajj and Umrah for Allah.” (2:196) And He said, within the verses speaking of Hajj, “So avoid the uncleanliness of idols and avoid false statement, inclining [only] to Allah, not associating [anything] with Him.” (22:30-31) Likewise, in Talibiya, which is the slogan of Hajj, singling Allah in one's rituals is made clear: “Labbayka Allahumma Labbayk, Labbayka Laa shareeka laka Labbayk, Innal-Hamda wan ni`mata, laka wal-mulk, laa shareeka lak.” [Here I am at Your service, O Allah! You have no partner. Here I am at your service, O Allah. Verily, all the praise, the grace belongs to You and the kingdom. You have no partner] (15). Hajj is based on tawheed and following of the Messenger sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, and not falling into shirk of obedience, as there is no place in acts of worship for any rituals based on desires.
Third: Reverence of Allah's symbols (rites) and sanctities
From the most apparent of goals and wisdoms of Hajj is cultivation of the servant upon appreciation, esteem and love of Allah's symbols and sanctities. Allah says, “That [is so]. And whoever honors the symbols [i.e. rites] of Allah – indeed, it is from the piety of hearts.” (22:32)

Fourth: Cultivation upon good and praiseworthy characteristics
1) Decency and chastity. “Hajj is [during] well-known months, so whoever has made hajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of ihram], there is [to be for him] no Rafath…” (2:197)
Ar-Rafath is sexual intercourse or what leads to it from sayings or actions.
2) Suppressing anger, leaving argumentation and disputes. Allah ta`ala says, “and no (Jidal) disputing during Hajj.” (2:197) `Ataa' said, Al-Jidal is that you dispute your companion until you anger him and he angers you.
3) Gentleness, softness and calmness. When he heard strong rebuking, hitting and shouts at a camel while moving from Muzdalifa, “O people, you must be calm, for rush and hurrying is not righteousness.” (16)
4) Not being concerned only about oneself and associating with people. During Hajj, the servant is not only concerned about oneself, rather he mixes with his pilgrim brothers and shares with them in clothing, recitation of Talbiya, transportation and acts.
5) Cultivation upon taking responsibility for one's mistakes. This becomes evident in the case of obligatory atonement for one who makes an intentional mistake that violates the state of ihram, or leaves for Muzdalifah before sunset, etc.
6) Cultivation upon humbleness. This becomes evident in the unity between all Hujaj in rituals and feelings, and the negation of traces of material differences between them, such as language, nationality, wealth, etc. The Prophet sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said during his last farewell Hajj, “O people! Verily, your Lord is one, and your father (Adam) is one, verily the Arab is not superior to the non-Arab, nor the non-Arab to the Arab, nor the white to the black, nor the black to the white, except by taqwaa (piety, fearful awareness of Allah).” (17)
7) Cultivation upon different types of patience. The servant restrains oneself from one's desires by leaving acts that are prohibited while in the state of ihram, and also by leaving some permissible acts while not in the state of ihram. He exposes oneself to hardship and fatigue in fulfilling the orders of Allah by performing the rituals, so that this be a motive for leaving sins, doing righteous acts and bearing inconveniences after Hajj.
8) Generosity and openhandedness. This is clear in the servant's bearing expenditures for Hajj.
Hajj reminds the servant
Fifth: Reminder of the Last Day of the Last Day and its states and conditions in a clear manner, including the following:
- His departure from his country and separation from his family reminds him of his separation from them when leaving this world for the Hereafter.
- Removal of stitched clothing and lack of adornment reminds him of coffin and resurrection of servants from their graves on the Day of Resurrection barefoot and naked.
- Journey and fatigue remind him of weakness and hardship of the Day of Resurrection, to the point that some will drown in sweat to their necks.
Sixth: Cultivation upon submission and surrender to Allah ta`ala
Pilgrim is trained upon submission, surrender and complete obedience to Allah Lord of the worlds, as, for example, in the case of to actions of Hajj, such as abandonment of stitched clothing and adornment, tawaf, sa`ee, standing on `Arafat, stoning, lodging and shaving or cutting of one's hair and other such matters that do not have an obvious meaning.
Seventh: Deepenin develops deep love between them, which, in turn, becomes a motive for them to know each other, to cooperate, exchange thoughts, advice, news and experiences, reinforcing in them uprightness upon this Deen which joined them together, as well as performing acts aiming g of Brotherhood based on faith and Islamic unity
Pilgrims, with all their differences in tongues, races and nationalities, gather in one same place at one same time, in one same appearance, pronouncing the same call of Talbiyah, and for the same purpose: belief in Allah ta`ala, fulfillment of His order and leaving of sinfulness, all of which to reach higher levels.
Eighth: Strengthening the attachment of Hujjaj to the predecessors
Actions of Hajj remind of the past, from the migration of Ibrahim, `alayhis salam, with his wife and infant, to Hijaz, his story when he was ordered to sacrifice his son, his building of the Ka`bah and his call to people to make Hajj. Likewise, Hajj is a reminder of the rising of our Prophet Muhammad, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, and his farewell pilgrimage with more than one hundred thousand Companions; when he said to them, “Take from me your rites (of Hajj)”. Since then ages have passed, and at the present time the number of pilgrims is more than a

million. This causes the pilgrim to remember the generations that have witnessed this land before him…and to remember that the final destination is the same for all.

Ninth: Increase in remembrance of Allah ta`ala
The servant who contemplates during rituals of Hajj about Talbiyah, takbir, tahlil (saying La ilaha ill Allah), supplication, as well as the two revelations (Qur'an and Sunnah) which speak about them, will find that an increase in remembrance of Allah ta`ala is from the greatest wisdoms and aims of Hajj. From those ********************s is the saying of Allah ta`ala, “Remember Allah at al-Mash`ar al-Haram (Muzdalifah).” [2:198] And his saying, “Circumambulating of the house, [going] between as-Safa and al-Marwa and stoning have only been legislated for establishment of remembrance of Allah on the Earth.” (18)
Tenth: Getting used to a system and training upon discipline
Eleventh: Other benefits
Other benefits are related to both dunya and the hereafter, that are individual and collective.
Fourth: Warning against sinfulness and falling into error
Servant does not earn Hajj Mabrur except by leaving sins. While falling into sin is prohibited at all times, Allah ta`ala gives a specific order to the pilgrims to leave sins. He says, “Hajj is [during] well-known months, so whoever has made hajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of ihram], there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during hajj.” (2:197) This is due to nobility of the time and greatness of the place. Allah ta`ala says, “Whoever intends [a deed] therein [i.e. in the Haram] of deviation [in religion] or wrongdoing – We will make him taste of a painful punishment.” (22:25) How could there be reward for one who commits sins?!
Contemplation about the state of people during Hajj causes one to realize the many evil deeds and mistakes, which are the result of: weak fear of Allah, lack of consideration of the sacredness of the time and place, ignorance of the Shari`ah and following of customs. Perhaps from the most widespread evil actions and mistakes in Hajj are the following: intentionally committing prohibited acts while in the state of ihram without a valid excuse, harming Muslims with one's sayings and actions, leaving of mutual advising and ordering of good and forbidding evil, delaying prayer from its due time, backbiting, slander, vain talk, argumentation, hearsay, extravagance, miserliness in spending, wasting food, bad behaviour towards others, negligence with regards to sins, such as listening to what is not allowed, uncovering what is not allowed to be uncover, hurry or delay in performance of rituals, lack of observance of spatial limits which may not be overstepped in performance of actions of Hajj, etc.
Who is more deprived than one who sacrifices his soul, his wealth and leaves his previous state and his adornment and then returns with forbidden actions and the anger of the Merciful?
A poet said,
He went to Hajj so that Allah forgives his sins
And returned with even more sins
Fifth: Striving hard in obedience of Allah and proper use of time
In the verses about Hajj there are signs that exhort the servant to make a lot of righteous actions while performing the pilgrimage. From it is the saying of Allah `azza wa jall, “And whatever good you do – Allah knows it.“ (2:197) Perhaps from the most important righteous actions which the servant should do plenty of and keep busy with while at Hajj are the following:
a) Actions of the heart
Sincerity, love of Allah, relying on Him, fear of Him, hoping in His reward, glorification and respect of Him, submission and surrender, expressing one's need of Him, truthfulness in supplication, repentance, patience, being pleased with Allah, tranquility etc. are from the most important actions of the heart that the servant should occupy himself with in his Hajj, for Islam is centered around them. Ibn ul Qayyim said, “Whoever contemplates the aims and means of the Sharee`ah will know the correlation between actions of the body and actions of the heart and (will understand) that the former are of no benefit without the latter.” (19)
b) Recitation of the Qur'an, remembrance of Allah and seeking forgiveness
Allah has ordered the pilgrims in the verses about Hajj to engage in remembrance (dhikr) and seeking of forgiveness. It is related that the Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, was asked, “What Hajj is the best? He said, “That in which there is most dhikr (remembrance of Allah).” (20)
c) Goodness towards people
In the hadeeth, “It was said, 'O Messenger of Allah, which people are dearest to Allah?' He said, 'Dearest people to Allah are those who are the most useful to (other) people.'”
27-04-2007, 07:15
d) Calling to Allah `azza wa jall
Ignorance, innovations, evil actions and mistakes have widely spread among the pilgrims, and from what is obligatory upon scholars and callers is guiding and advising others, ordering them to good and forbidding them from evil with wisdom, good exhortation and arguing in a better way. Shuja` bin al Waleed said, “I was making Hajj with Sufyan, and his tongue hardly ceased to enjoin good and forbid evil, both while going and coming back.” (21)
e) Supplicating to Allah and asking Him
Hajj is one of the great occasions to ask Allah ta`ala and to supplicate to Him, it s an occasion that requires usage of the opportunity and submissiveness before Allah. The Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, said, “The best supplication is supplication on `Arafat.” (22) “Those making Hajj and `Umrah are delegates (guests) of Allah, He called them and they answered, they ask him and He gives them.” (23)
Sixth: Steadfastness…Steadfastness (after Hajj)
The evidence of Hajj Mabrur is steadfastness of the servant after Hajj, his practice of righteous acts and leaving of the sins. Al-Hasan al-Basri said, “Al-Hajj al-Mabrur is to return abstinent from this world and desiring the hereafter. This is witnessed to in His saying, “And those who are guided – He increases them in guidance and gives them their righteousness (taqwa, fearful awareness of Allah, care to avoid His displeasure).” (47:17)

So beware, my brother, of destroying what you build, dispersing what you gather, eliminating what you gain, regressing after guidance, and deterioration after refinement.
Remember that Hajj nullifies what precedes it from sins, and that because of Hajj you return in a state like that on the day your mother bore you. So beware of opposing Allah with sins after this blessing. Open a new page in your life and fill it with righteous actions in steadfastness upon His Deen

Who’s Muhammad?
Birth and Childhood
The Holy Mosque in Makkah
Muhammad was born in Makkah in 570 CE. His father died before his birth. As an infant, Muhammad was put in the care if a Bedouin wet nurse to be brought up by her in the healthy atmosphere of the desert. At the age of five, Muhammad returned to the care of his mother, Aminah bint Wahb, but she died a year later. Muhammad then went to live with his paternal grandfather, Abdul-Muttalib. Abdul-Muttalib died when Muhammad was eight, and the boy was then brought up by his uncle Abu Talib. At the age of twelve, Muhammad accompanied his uncle in a merchant’s caravan to Syria.
As a Young Man
Muhammad was content to work as a shepherd, but his uncle Abu Talib desired something better for him and obtained him employment with a rich widow, Khadijah bint Khuwaylid ibn Asad. Thus, at the age of 25, Muhammad found himself in charge of a caravan conveying merchandise to Syria.
On his return from Syria, Khadijah was so pleased with his successful management of her business and was so attracted by his noble character that she sent her sister to offer the young man Khadijah’s hand. Muhammad had felt drawn to Khadijah, and so matters were soon arranged. Their 26 years of married life were singularly happy. Muhammad continued to work as a merchant. His fairness further enhanced his reputation as "Al-Amin" (the trustworthy one). He continued to take an ever-increasing interest in public affairs and to exert himself in the service of the poor, the helpless, and the weak.

In the Cave
Whenever the iniquities of his people oppressed him, Muhammad retired to the solitude of a cave in Mount Hira outside Makkah. There he tried to uncover the mysteries of creation, of life and death, of good and evil, and to find order out of chaos. Solitude became a passion for him, and every year he would retire to the cave for the whole month of Ramadan to meditate.
First Revelation
It was on one of these occasions, when he was 40 years of age, when Muhammad received the call. One night, while lying absorbed in his thoughts in the solitude of the cave, Muhammad was commanded by a mighty voice to go forth and preach. Muhammad rose trembling and hastened home to seek rest and solace in Khadijah’s tender care, and she calmed and comforted him. She later consulted her relative, Waraqah ibn Nawfal, who was a Christian. He declared that the heavenly message that had been revealed to Moses had come to Muhammad, and that he was chosen to be a prophet of Allah.
First Converts
Khadijah was the first to accept the truth of Islam. Muhammad then communicated his experience to his cousin Ali, his adopted son Zaid, and his closest friend, Abu Bakr. The Prophet began by secretly preaching his mission first among his close friends, then among the members of his own tribe, and thereafter publicly in the city and suburbs. The Quraish tribe was the guardian of the Kabah, which was a source of great prestige and profit to its city, Makkah. They were, therefore, seriously alarmed and became actively hostile towards Muhammad.

Hijrah to Abyssinia
The fury of the people of Makkah knew no bounds. Muhammad was subjected to insults, personal attacks, and bitter persecution. His converts were also relentlessly oppressed, persecuted, and tortured. Therefore, in the fifth year of his mission, Muhammad advised them to leave the country and seek refuge from the persecution of the idolaters among the Christian people of Abyssinia. Muhammad and a few stalwart followers remained in Makkah and suffered untold misery and oppression, but still their number continued to increase.
The Boycott
The Quraish outlawed Muhammad and asked his tribe to forgo their right to avenge his blood. The proud tribesmen refused to give up the right at the bidding of the people of Makkah, who thereupon boycotted them. After three years, the ban was lifted. A year later, Muhammad lost his uncle Abu Talib and his wife Khadijah. The death of Abu Talib removed the last check on the Makkans’ violence. Persecution grew ever fiercer, and Muhammad sought refuge in the neighboring city of Taif, where he was met with great hostility and barely escaped with his life.
Hijrah to Madinah
The Prophet's Mosque in Madinah
Muhammad took council with his Makkan followers, and it was decided that they should immigrate to Madinah. They left gradually and unobtrusively, Muhammad remained until the last Muslim left. Their departure was soon discovered by the Quraish, who decided to slay Muhammad before he escaped. They cast lots and chose forty men, one from each tribes, who took a solemn vow to kill Muhammad. They were to strike simultaneously so that the murder could not be avenged on any one clan. But on the night they were to kill him, Muhammad left Makkah with Abu Bakr.
Muhammad was now free to preach, and his followers increased rapidly. The Muslims could now worship freely and live according to the laws of Allah. But the people of Makkah were not going to allow Muhammad’s movement to take root in Madinah. They organized three great expeditions against the city, but all were beaten back.
Treaty of Hudaybiyah
Eventually the Makkans and Muslims concluded the Treaty of Hudaybiyah to maintain peace and to observe neutrality in their conflicts with third parties. According to the treaty, the Muslims were to return to Madinah that year without performing the pilgrimage, but they could come to do that the following year when the Quraish would vacate the city for them for three days.
Back in Makkah
It was not until AH 8 that the Muslims were able to put an end to this war by gaining a bloodless victory over Makkah when the Makkans violated the terms of their treaty. The people of Makkah, who had relentlessly oppressed Muhammad and his followers for 21 years, expected dire vengeance, but in the hour of their defeat, they were treated with the greatest magnanimity. "Go, you are free!" were the words with which Muhammad gave them general amnesty. The Prophet removed all the idols in and around the Kabah, saying, "The Truth has come and falsehood vanished" (Quran 17:81) and the Muslim call to prayer was heard in this ancient sanctuary.
His Death
In AH 10, Muhammad went to Makkah as a pilgrim, and he felt it was for the last time because in the revelation he recently received there included the verse "This day have I perfected your religion for you" (Al-Ma’idah 5:3). On his return to Madinah, he fell ill from a mortal fever. It lasted for 15 days, but he continued to lead the prayers until 3 days before his death, when he delegated the responsibility to Abu Bakr.
At early dawn, on the last day of his earthly life, Muhammad came out from his room beside the mosque and joined in the public prayers, but later in the day he died. His end came peacefully. Murmuring requests of pardon from Allah and the company of the righteous in Paradise, the Prophet of Islam breathed his last, at the age of 63, in AH 11.
After his death, his followers faithfully carried the message of Islam, and within 90 years, the light of Islam reached Spain, North Africa, the Caucasus, China, and India

There is no place on earth that has crossed borders of Islam, is proof that Islam is the only religion which tends to the hearts of people holding
The first thing we need to know about Islam is the meaning of the word Islam
This word has not derived from the name of a person as in Christianity from Christ to the Buddha or Buddhism or Marxism of Karl Max
Not derived from the name of a tribe as in Hinduism
The word Islam is the true religion of God and the word Islam is the fundamental basis of religion, God, who is God Almighty surrender

Be kind and forgiving.. This is Islam

Islam gives mankind the right to live in
peace and harmony
~*~*~
islam teaches its believers loyalty and submission, but it does not eliminate their mind function

Is it possible for this universe to move on with such precision and accuracy without one almighty god?
think and you shall find the answer in Quraan
~*~*~
put a small box in the sea.. contemplate : does a ship move on by itself, or does it need a wise captain?
This is the way muslims' submission to Allah lead them to heaven
~*~*~
Islam is the religion of peace and mercy, and Quraan is God's message to all mankind

among the protocols of islaam upon entering a house( including one's own) : to knock on the door and wait a while before opening it, and that is for two reasons
first, to give the wife some time to tidy herself up. second, to assure her that he trusts her, hence does not intend to check up on her by arriving unexpectedly.
this is a simple example of the etiquette of islaam.
~*~*~
among social etiquette of islaam: that two people shall not murmur in the presence of a third person, in order not to make him feel embarrassed or inferior
~*~*~
among road manners within islaam etiquette: helping whomever needs help with carrying goods, avoiding littering, and clearing away litter that may offend eyesight or even harm pedestrians, like a banana skin for example!

what is islam??
Islam is a great religion : conclusive of all previous religions, and the best, and most comprehensive among all
It came to liberate the servants, thus make them worship their creator and provider; the most gracious
Islam represents grace, contentment, glory and salvation
Nations rise with it, and fall in decay without it
Whomever embraces it lives in tranquility, and wins the keys to paradise
A religion of peace and serenity.. of justice..
It elevated the nation to the highest status through its doctrines and legislations that suit all times and places, and are appropriate to all mankind

n {The believers, in their love, mercy, and kindness to one another are like a body: if any part of it is ill, the
whole body shares its sleeplessness and fever.}1
n {The most perfect of the believers in faith are the best of them in morals. And the best among them are those who are best to their wives.}2
n {None of you believes (completely) until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.}3
n {The merciful are shown mercy by the All-Merciful. Show mercy to those on earth, and God will show mercy to you.}4
n {Smiling at your brother is charity...}5
n {A good word is charity.}6
n {Whoever believes in God and the Last Day (the Day of Judgment) should do good to his neighbor.}7
n {God does not judge you according to your appearance and your wealth, but He looks at your hearts and looks into your deeds.}8
n {Pay the worker his wage before his sweat dries.}9
n {A man walking along a path felt very thirsty. Reaching a well, he descended into it, drank his fill, and came up. Then he saw a dog with its tongue hanging out, trying to lick up mud to quench its thirst. The man said, “This dog is feeling the same thirst that I felt.” So he went down into the well again, filled his shoe with water, and gave the dog a drink. So, God thanked him and forgave his sins.} The Prophet was asked, “Messenger of God, are we rewarded for kindness towards animals?” He said: {There is a reward for kindness to every living animal or human.}10

My name is اكتب اسمك , I am from ( اكتب اسم بلدك),
I’ve seen many places of the world on TV screen and few that I’ve visited either for fun or/and business
As you know when we travel we meet a lot of different cultures and people,
I found in many places I’ve been to; that people stereotyped Islam (that's my religion) they prejudge Muslims from what they see in media incidents.
Allow me to share with you here some information about Jesus Christ,
Muslims believe in Jesus Christ (peace and blessings of (Allah = God) be upon Him as one of the mightiest messengers from (Allah=God),
We believe he is born miraculously by the word of Allah without Father
Like ADAM Been created without father nor mother,
And Marry (mar yam) is his mother the pious, pure female may Allah be pleased with her,
In fact there is a chapter in Quraan titled Marry
Let me quote here these verses:
“BEHOLD! THE ANGELS SAID: O MARY! GOD HATH CHOSEN THEE AND PURIFIED THEE –
CHOSEN THEE ABOVE THE WOMEN OF ALL NATIONS ”
And this Verse About Jesus:
“HE SHALL SPEAK TO THE PEOPLE IN CHILDHOOD AND IN MATURITY, AND SHALL BE (OF THE COMPANY) OF THE RIGHTEOUS.”
If this is a Quiz asking you where these Divine verses come from the Bible Torah or elsewhere?
THE Answer for your information it is from Quraan 3:45,46
This shows how much we need to know about what others believe.
You may visit this link below it’ll give you broad knowledge of Islam in Questions and Answers format ,

Listen I am NOT Trying to convert YOU, but isn't it worth it for general
Information to know about what other believes?
And Allah granted you and me wisdom, brain, and heart to judge for ourselves?
Needless to say if you have any comment, question, suggestion I'll be glad to share them with you.
Okay if you found my introductory bothersome in any way please
Forgive me,
ِAny way I hope to hear from you sooner,

The Oneness of God
The Believer's Attitude
Introduction
It is a known fact that every language has one or more terms that are used in reference to God and sometimes to lesser deities. This is not the case with Allah. Allah is the personal name of the One true God. Nothing else can be called Allah. The term has no plural or gender. This shows its uniqueness when compared with the word "god," which can be made plural, as in "gods," or made feminine, as in "goddess." It is interesting to notice that Allah is the personal name of God in Aramaic, the language of Jesus and a sister language of Arabic. The One true God is a reflection of the unique concept that Islam associates with God. To a Muslim, Allah is the Almighty Creator and Sustainer of the universe, Who is similar to nothing, and nothing is comparable to Him. The Prophet Muhammad was asked by his contemporaries about Allah; the answer came directly from God Himself in the form of a short chapter of the Qur'an, which is considered to be the essence of the unity or the motto of monotheism. This is chapter 112, which reads:" In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate. Say (O Muhammad), He is God, the One God, the Everlasting Refuge, who has not begotten, nor has been begotten, and equal to Him is not anyone".Some non-Muslims allege that God in Islam is a stern and cruel God who demands to be obeyed fully and is not loving and kind. Nothing could be farther from the truth than this allegation. It is enough to know that, with the exception of one, each of the 114 chapters of the Qur'an begins with the verse " In the name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate". In one of the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), we are told that " God is more loving and kind than a mother to her dear child".On the other hand, God is also Just. Hence, evildoers and sinners must have their share of punishment, and the virtuous must have God's bounties and favors. Actually, God's attribute of Mercy has full manifestation in His attribute of Justice. People suffering throughout their lives for His sake should not receive similar treatment from their Lord as people who oppress and exploit others their whole lives. Expecting similar treatment for them would amount to negating the very belief in the accountability of man in the Hereafter and thereby negate all the incentives for a moral and virtuous life in this world. The following Qur'anic verses are very clear and straightforward in this respect.
Verily, for the Righteous are gardens of Delight, in the Presence of their Lord. Shall We then treat the people of Faith like the people of Sin? What is the matter with you? How judge you?
Islam rejects characterizing God in any human form or depicting Him as favoring certain individuals or nations on the basis of wealth, power or race. He created the human-beings as equals. They may distinguish themselves and get His favor through virtue and piety only.
The concepts that God rested on the seventh day of creation, that God wrestled with one of His soldiers, that God is an envious plotter against mankind, and that God is incarnate in any human being are considered blasphemy from the Islamic point of view.
The unique usage of Allah as a personal name of God is a reflection of Islam's emphasis on the purity of the belief in God that is the essence of the message of all God's messengers. Because of this, Islam considers associating any deity or personality with God as a deadly sin that God will never forgive, despite the fact that He may forgive all other sins.
The Creator must be of a different nature from the things created because if He is of the same nature as they are, He will be temporal and will therefore need a maker. It follows that nothing is like Him. If the maker is not temporal, then he must be eternal. But if he is eternal, he cannot be caused, and if nothing caused Him to come into existence, nothing outside Him causes Him to continue to exist, which means that he must be self-sufficient. And if He does not depend on anything for the continuance of His own existence, then this existence can have no end. The Creator is therefore eternal and everlasting: "He is the First and the Last".
He is Self-sufficient or Self-subsistent, or, to use a Qur'anic term, Al-Qayyum The Creator does not create only in the sense of bringing things into being, He. also preserves them and takes them out of existence and is the ultimate cause of whatever happens to them.
" God is the Creator of everything. He is the guardian over everything. Unto Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth" (39:62-63).
" No creature is there crawling on the earth, but its provision rests on God. He knows its lodging place and its repository" (11:16).
God's Attributes
If the Creator is Eternal and Everlasting, then His attributes must also be eternal and everlasting. He should not lose any of His attributes nor acquire new ones. If this is so, then his attributes are absolute. Can there be more than one Creator with such absolute attributes? Can there be, for example, two absolutely powerful Creators? A moment's thought shows that this is not feasible.
The Qur'an summarizes this argument in the following verses:" God has not taken to Himself any son, nor is there any god with Him: for then each god would have taken of that which he created and some of them would have risen up over others" (23:91).
" And why, were there gods in earth and heaven other than God, they (heaven and earth) would surely go to ruin" (21:22).
The Oneness of God
The Qur'an reminds us of the falsity of all alleged gods. To the worshippers of man-made objects it asks:" Do you worship what you have carved yourself" (37:95). " Or have you taken unto yourself others beside Him to be your protectors, even such as have no power either for good or for harm to themselves" (13:16).
To the worshippers of heavenly bodies it cites the story of Abraham:" When night outspread over him, he saw a star and said: This is my Lord. But when it set, he said: I love not the setters. When he saw the moon rising, he said: This is my Lord. But when it set, he said: If my Lord does not guide me, I shall surely be of the people gone astray. When he saw the sun rising, he said: This is my Lord; this is greater. But when it set, he said: O my people, surely I quit that which you associate, I have turned my face to Him who originated the heavens and the earth; a man of pure faith, I am not one of the idolators" (6:76-79).
The Believer's Attitude
In order to be a Muslim, that is, to surrender oneself to God, it is necessary to believe in the oneness of God, in the sense of His being the only Creator, Preserver, Nourisher, etc. But this belief, later called Tawhid Ar-Rububiyyah, is not enough. Many of the idolators knew and believed that only the Supreme God could do all this. But this was not enough to make them Muslims. To tawhid ar-rububiyyah, one must add tawhid al-'uluhiyyah. That is, one acknowledges the fact that it is God alone who deserves to be worshipped, and thus abstains from worshipping any other thing or being.
Having achieved this knowledge of the one true God, man should constantly have faith in Him, and should allow nothing to induce him to deny truth.
When faith enters a person's heart, it causes certain mental states that result in certain actions. Taken together, these mental states and actions are the proof for the true faith. The Prophet said:" Faith is that which resides firmly in the heart and which is proved by deeds".
Foremost among those mental stated is the feeling of gratitude towards God, which could be said to be the essence of ibada (worship).
The feeling of gratitude is so important that a non-believer is called 'kafir', which means 'one who denies a truth' and also 'one who is ungrateful'.
A believer loves, and is grateful to God for the bounties He bestowed upon him, but being aware of the fact that his good deeds, whether mental or physical, are far from being commensurate with Divine favors, he is always anxious lest God should punish him, here or in the Hereafter. He, therefore, fears Him, surrenders himself to Him and serves Him with great humility. One cannot be in such a mental state without being almost all the time mindful of God. Remembering God is thus the life force of faith, without which it fades and withers away.
The Qur'an tries to promote this feeling of gratitude by repeating the attributes of God very frequently. We find most of these attributes mentioned together in the following verses of the Qur'an:" He is God; there is no god but He. He is the Knower of the unseen and the visible; He is the All-Merciful, the All-Compassionate. He is God; there is no god but He. He is the King, the All-Holy, the All-Peace, the Guardian of the Faith, the All-Preserver, the All-Mighty, the All-Compeller, the All-Sublime. Glory be to God, above that they associate! He is God, the Creator, the Maker, the Shaper. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. All that is in the heavens and the earth magnifies Him; He is the Almighty, the All-Wise" (59:22-24).
